Basically by measuring the stroke as Aidan said, I also noticed the inlet manifold gasket is different between DG and DJ. The worst part about it (or best depending how you look at it) is after checking the stroke the missus shouted me while waving a piece of paper at me. Turns out she had gone through all the paperwork we got with the van and found the invoice from Elite with the recon engine details! I very nearly swore but the kids were there!

Nope, it's the difference between the injection manifolds and the fixed carburettor manifold.

That's the one! Can you tell Im an electrician not a mechanic? ask me about a fuseboard and a few sockets and I will bore you to death
