Are auto-sleepers T25 converted panel vans?
Hi all,
I am trying to bottom out what parts I need to change over the lap belts in the rear of our van to 3 point jobbies. I see from brickwerks that there are a couple of options depending on whether the van was a factory panel van or fitted with windows as standard.
I would have assumed that it was not a panel van, until digging through the service history, I found the original auto-sleepers handbook and vehicle chassis reference which shows the van type (?) as a 252 021. From the brickwerks site I see a 252 is a panel van.
Could anyone confirm that this is correct?
Also I assume from the handbook that I have that our van is an AS trooper. But our bed and cupboard configuration is slightly different - full width bed and no additional wardrobe or large storage locker and no swivel seats. Are there other models from 1982?
Cheers,
Dan

Dan, as the former owner of a 1984 Auto-Sleeper VT20 I can say that A/S didn't change the model from VT20 to Trooper until about 1987 (late 'C' - early 'D' Reg). The VHT (Kev's camper) became the Trident. The VXS model appears to have disappeared.
This is the first time I have seen a VT20 without a wardrobe. Maybe it wasn't fitted to very early VT20s or it could have been an optional extra. The VT20 was a basic model with many things such as the Hot Box X1 night heater being optional.

Thanks gents. Nice to gain a bit of knowledge on what we have.
We have our first family camper trip planned for tomorrow a couple of nights away with the kiddies, can't wait.
