Hi
I have a 1988 Petrol with 4 speed box.
It is hard to get into first gear.
I suspect the gear linkage needs adjusting.
Found lots of post about gear linkage needs adjustment, but no mention of how its done.
Please could someone tell me how to do this....................?
Many Thanks.

Re: Gear Linkage adjustment
This one Aidan ?
loosen the pinch bolt
in the cab move the stick left to right across the gate in neutral a couple of times then over to the right and hold it there whilst the pinch bolt is tightened, ideally 2 peeps
Thanks.
Sounds simple....................................
Is it that simple ?
Is it likely to cure difficulty in getting into first ?

Re: Gear Linkage adjustment
adjustment is that easy if all the parts of the linkage are in good condition but it will only fix the problem if it's an adjustment issue, as I said it may be that the nylon guide below the gearstick is damaged and needs repair or some other part of the linkage is worn and in need of replacement
ensure that the pinch bolt is correctly fitted with the bolt alligned in the cut out in the shaft, if it's horizontal it's in the wrong place
