Can anyone help?

We have an Autosleeper Trooper with lots of space, so we finally decided to get a portaloo as we have lots of room to carry it inside a buddy seat on those trips when we needed a loo.

So we got the small Thetford Porta Potti (is it 335?) but we just cannot find a buddy seat/box to put it in.

Does anyone make these? Has anyone found a solution, how to you carry your loos??
It would be great to find something that fits the space, looks right and is also an extra seat - we worked out with the passenger seat turned round and reclined, it could also be the perfect foot rest for a snooze.

the small 235 porta potty wil fit in the lower cupboard next to the rear seat

there's a set of plans in the wiki for a buddy seat/potty box that you can make to your potty size

However, given that I probably know already we do not have your technical talent or transferable skills, any idea if this or anything similar available for sale?

I am already trying to think of friends who do have the talent and skills......I'll think hard.

As some will know, I have been looking for the same thing now for a year or more. They seem VERY expensive to buy and my woodworking skills and tools are not up to making one. I will watch this thread for possibilities.

There is a person from here in S. Devon that has made one. I have p.m.'d him re this thread and he might be along soon with suggestions :)

Hi.
Earlier this year I made a buddy seat / toilet box for my camper from 15mm plywood. It fits snugly around the Thetford with, a lift up lid and an access slot for the flush handle. These two photos show the completed seat in situ.

I would happily consider making one for you, tailoring it to your requirements, size, surface finish etc. As you are quite close to me - I'm at Loddiswell in South Devon, we could easily meet up half way for exchange etc. Let me know via a p.m. if you are interested.

ps. my wife confirms that ours is perfect for a foot rest and snooze!

Ikea hol side table, cut a slot in the front for the flush handle and shape the top of one side so the portaloo is the same level. Pop a nice cushion on the top and cover the sides with some carpet trim and voila! A loo / seat for less than £20

Brilliant, thanks for all the help and suggestions.
I think we are on to something now, we are going to have a go at making one with plans and photos to hand (and a keen friend with tools and a few skills). I'll post the outcome.

Hi All,
Just to fire this thread up again.
I am looking to build a buddy box to go in a 1982 Devon, I am happy to to the DIY part of it but I was looking for some suitable matching material to make it out of.
Either the cream colour or the 'poo' brown (very apt!)
It can be bought but a big cost and I think I will need to get 3 off 8'x4' sheets due to minimum order quantities.
Any body know where I can get some ply, chipboard or MDF with the colour finish on??

I cannot help you Pete, other than to say that I am planning on using some of this PAINT LINK (E D I T = on researching, many folk review that paint as not very good at all :cry: ) on all the "furniture" in our van (as it currently looks tired). You might find similar in a colour to suit / contrast.



btw, whilst I am here, I am still looking for a buddy box / Porta Loo thing :wink:

Thanks, a bit dear and transport from Surrey to add.

Thinking of making one myself now, especially as I need to make another cupboard for the van and re-cover / paint all the rest of the furniture. I had better learn some woodworking skills !
