New fuel tank issue

Post by T0m46 »

I have recently bought a new petrol tank for my 2.1 injection t25, when i was changing over my fuel level sensor i noticed the ild tank had a cylindrical plastic pot just inside the fuel sensor hole. The new tank doesnt have this plastic pot, does this mean they havnt sent the correct tank or is it a different design because it isnt a genuine VW tank?

It's the wrong tank for a carburettor model, injection engines need the plastic swirl pot in the tank, original VW part number for the injection tank is 251 201 075AH, carburettor tanks are 251 201 075AE
