Got the garage to fit a new timing belt to my 1600D na. They recommended a new belt for water pump pulley.
Anyway, got van home and changed engine oil, oil filter and air filter then set off on a 300 mile round trip. After five miles came to a straight and put the boot down and it felt like i was running out of fuel and sucking on the dregs ie blockages in the fuel system. Going up hills would lose power and the temp gauge moved from normal left of centre to a fair bit right of centre. Put a full bottle of system cleaner in the tank but its not improved. It did the 300 miles ok but just slower. Engine seems to run ok as long as I don't rev too much and inclines that the van could make at 50mph I can only do at 30. Thought I might've got a few miles of trouble free motoring after being good to the old bus.
Help!! How can I tell if the timing is out and needs to go back to the garage or if this is yet another problem ... again??

I reckon they got the belt one tooth out - take it back and get them to do it correctly!
