So today I took the family out in the bus and when I went to put it in reverse it felt a bit strange.
Didn't really think much of it and carried on driving.
When I next went to go for 1st gear, it just would not go in!
Is it more likely the linkage has some how shifted or something worse?
Cheers

Re: Help! Can't find first gear!
I've just been out for another fiddle and it seems it will go into 1st by pressing down the gear lever as if going for reverse but only moving the stick over slightly. Almost as if something has shifted slightly?
Thanks again

Re: Help! Can't find first gear!
Just fixed it!
Thought I'd share the knowledge in case it helps someone else in the future.
Quite simple really, the rod that goes from the gear stick to the gear box has adjustment towards the back.
Basically, it looks like the nut that holds the adjuster had come slightly loose meaning that when the gear stick was pushed right over to the left, it wasn't engaging 1st.
A quick twist of the rod, tighten the bolt and hey presto!
