newbie bought a t25 few little probs

Hi all,

ive taken the plunge and bought a 1981 T25

it only has two little probs,

the first is the engine bay/boot wont open , it unlocks but when you press the button it doesnt open. The old owner opened it and showed me so it must work?

the other is one of the wipoers isnt working the spline moves its just not tight enough, when ive looked the spline has broken so there is not enough to tighten a nut on. any advice on hoe to fix this please? also how do you get twop the wipers is it through the drill... any advice appreciated

to get the tailgate open remove the tailgate panel inside the van you can now gain access to the lock , to remove the wipers motor you drop the glovebox down and you will then see the securing screws for the wiper motor , if its just the wipers not tightening up on the wiper shaft the splines may be full of alloy of the wiper arm due to it working loose , clean these out with a sharp blade so you can now see the splines , you may then need to fit a good 2nd hand wiper arm or better still a brand new one ,
