Syncro exhaust pipe

Post by syncro up »

Quick question guys.
On a AAZ conversion, is the exhaust pipe from the turbo to the silencer, a Sycnro specific part.
I seem to recall the exhaust on a Syncro sits highter than on a 2wd, could be wrong.
thanks
Alastair.

I don't think the Syncro got its own part numbers for the TD J-pipe and muffler (it did for some of the WBX bits though). However there's an 'early' and 'late' version, the 'late' has flange joints and its J-pipe sits noticeably higher. The 'early' muffler is the more compact of the two though. I use the 'late' pattern Ernst parts that JK sells, and have been happy with the quality.

PS. The early and late patterns have their own fitting brackets too so factor that in, if you're considering changing.

Ernst are good but are exactly the same as mr B sells minus the branding...I have one of each and even the numbers are the same, just no brand.

Straight though as well the early type, seem well made despite being a budget option.

Buy from mr B...

I'm replacing my late version silencer with the JK one as there is some strange cut down land rover one currently not very well welded on.
Just noticed I am missing one of the brackets.
Can confirm that early and late types do have different bracket fittings.
Anybody know where I can pick one up before I set about fashioning one from scratch?
Cheers
