'84 T25 - Speedo not working

Post by gmc »

Apologies for the vague listing......

Just got a T25 for restoration and the Speedo isnt working. Not had a chance to check the problem yet (storing the T25 elsewhere at the moment until my garage is cleared out!).

Is there a common reason for the speedo not working.....broken cable probably or is there any know issue with the Speedo head?

Thanks

Also see the 'You may also be interested in ....' section on that link for the E-clip that secures the cable end to the cap

hi, my milo stopped recording about 2000 miles ago, speedo still reading ok. just took the head out of the instument panel, and after some thought and tea, i fixed it. my little green cog was ok but it and the shaft it is on had worked out of mesh with the white gear. the other end of the shaft goes though some clear plastic , which acts as a bearing. because my shaft had worked forward , it came out of the plastic, and the top numbers were not supported. this jammed the lower numbers, hence no reading. i carefully gave a hard push to the green gear and shaft, which went back into place. put it back into the van, and it now records ok. it took 23 years, and 106000 miles to work out, so i am hoping it will last at least, 50,000 ?? i think if your little green gear is cracked, its curtains. but glue may do it for a while, kdave
