Re-lining interior advise please
Hi guys,
I've decided I need to re-line the interior panels of my van as its covered in some rather tired looking cork stuff.
Firstly, is this any easy job?
Secondly, what sort of stuff do I use and where do I get it from ?
Thanks

Re: Re-lining interior advise please
Search for 'van carpet trim' on ebay - its very easy to do & covers a multitude of sins...but make sure you use high temp adhesive or it'll fall off at the first hint of sunshine.
We've done the roof as well as the panel cards

The seller is upholstery-diy123, sorry but I can't link from my tablet

Hi,yeh easy but time consuming, are you doing roof, around windows or just sides.? Some of the lining carpet is more strechy than others which is important if doing the corners by the side windows. What area are you in? Yeh high temp glue important, esp for roof panels

I got quoted £800 to recover the front seats, new interior panels in vinyl and the roof/walls re carpeted. http://www.autoretrim.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; although i have heard it is fairly simple to do buy yourself and plenty of places do the plain interior door panel sets and carpeting.
Its going to have to wait till next year tho now. Doing an engine swap this year now.

Thanks, looks like a good job btw.
Any one know if this stuff is available in other colours as I have the brown interior?
I had a look on eBay and could only find grey type colours.
Here's a pic of my interior, what are people's thoughts on what colour would look right?
I'm no designer unfortunately!

Which is exactly what has happened to the fancy white vinyl interior on our new(ish) van

I told Gill I wasn't keen on it anyway, it didn't look "cozy" enough for my taste !

Second MegVan Mats, I used the megastretch which was dead easy but colours are limited
http://www.megavanmats.com/apps/webstor ... how/298422
I used smoke and anthracite in my van

The standard trim fabric has a a wider range of colours
http://www.megavanmats.com/apps/webstor ... ow/2308172
Not sure if that's as easy to fix though

Re: Re-lining interior advise please
That looks great
Is it easy to tuck it under the window rubbers, or do you simply "butt" it up against them ?

Re: Re-lining interior advise please
Mines a panal conversion so it's got a gap between the inner and outer skin which is bridged by a big rubber lippy door seal profile type thing
bit like the one on the far right here

so not actually under the window seals although Megavanmats site states that's easy to do.
