Is this something a numpty like me could sort on a campsite, have pushed window up for now and jammed with special card!!

Re: Window not winding!
Thorgills,
if you have a big cross head screwdriver I bet you could sort it on site if you so desired!
You will need to remove all the door furniture - you will need a selection of cross head screw drivers
Some screws are cunningly hid under plastic covers...then a flat head becomes useful!
Once all the furniture is off you have to remove the door card - be careful if you don't do it gently you *may* break the clips>>>JK's sell the tool for removing the door cards keeping the clips intact!
Once card is off, you will see the carrier which the glass slots into,. Think there are one or two bolts to get to.
If glass is on the carrier....you will need to know what else is at fault////but you can put the winder on again to test without the card!
An interesting half hour or so.
Regards

oh - if you are the lucky owner of an unmolested door, there is plastic behind the door card, glued around the edges. An additional layer of fun. You can cut / remove / peel gently if possible etc as you see fit...

Re: Window not winding!
Those window carriers are known to rust through, leaving the window unattached to the winding mechanism
Re: Window not winding!
Remove door card by removing vent at bottom of door, window winder handle, door catch handle (small flat screwdriver to pop off the cover), door handle (pop up the two screw covers) and possible speakers too. Then with a flat screwdriver pop the door card clips.

Above is an image of the mechanism. The plastic black piece on the raiser may have broken (white on originals) or even the bolts may have worked loose that hold the window to the mechanism.

Re: Window not winding!
Thanks all - will have a play when back on site pre-beer!!
Em, I do have the plastic so I must be the first to explore those parts!!
Done most of what you said, the only scary bit seems to be the door opener lever as I can't see just yet how that pops off without breaking, but have removed handle, winder and door vent so far without any trauma!!
Will let you know how I get on!!
