Water from Air Filter box

Post by Fande t25 »

Hi guys,

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but just checking to be sure. I noticed water leaking out of the round box that houses the air filter on my 1.6 td. Few days before I washed the van so I'm thinking water got in through the side vent. If this is the case what to you guys do to prevent this from happening.

Also I'd only just changed the filter so would it still be ok as it obviously got wet.

Oh and I obviously drained out all the water.

Thanks

Eric

Are you connected correctly to the snorkel in the air scoop? Or is your ducting just flapping in the breeze? :D Hard to get water in if you are connected up.

I renewed the pipe few months ago, I'll check its connected ok this evening. I did use a fire station hose reel to clean the van so a bit more pressure then a standard hose pipe :o
