Subaru EJ25 exhaust?

Post by aruntaylor »

Hi all,
I am getting very close to having all of the parts I need to complete my diesel Syncro to petrol EJ25 subaru conversion. The only thing I haven't sorted is the exhaust. I've got the original Legacy exhaust system including the headers but I've got no leads on an exhaust system specific for this conversion. Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks
Arun

With a subaru conversion the exhaust design depends on the form of engine mounting etc. What parts are you using ? Are you planning to fab your own exhaust?

I have the smallcar exhaust, which works with their engine mount, the j-pipe and muffler are wbx pattern. The muffler mounts similarly to a wbx to the back of the mount.

I am using RJES kit.
Doubt I could fabricate anything but I could do a mock up.
I've the original headers.
And it's a Syncro.

I don't know of any off-the-shelf exhausts that work with Richards engine bar, and his exhaust system is currently unavailable, so I think fabbing is your only option.

I will be removing my RJES exhaust system in the next few weeks. I have ran it for about 1000 miles. Let me know if you are interested.

I used a TVR twin exit back box of ebay for £70 and two extra small power flow silencers and rjes headers. sounds great, is a full stainless system and didnt cost to much. Il post a pic of it in and out of t he bus if interested. Or go onto VW subaru hybrid club on facebook and look for chris fryer on members list. Loads of pics.
