AAZ and buzzer of doom.

Post by Custom & Bespoke »

AAZ recently installed, 450 miles ago, alternator found to be faulty so changed that, once the new one was fitted I have had the oil light and buzzer going at it. I've just changed the low and high switches to rule them out and taken the dash plug off and cleaned the terminals up but no change  Now do I take the camper to the local garage and get the oil pressure tested or are there any other items that I should be checking first ?

Are you sure that you haven't put the wrong wire on to the alternator? Disconnect the blue from the alternator and see if that stops the light and buzzer actuating. I say this because I noticed on mine that there are two blue wires around in my engine bay and one goes to the oil switch.(The other is the excitation wire to the alternator)

I have the blue exciter wire and the red/black for the rev counter (which I don't have), I have currently disconnected the red/black as the buzzer was doing me in !

When I had the faulty alternator installed I had no buzzer or light at all ? Forgive me if that would be blatantly obvious but I'm not really up on electrics

Also I've just been reading through old posts regarding this subject and found a thread regarding the oil pump, I know that I have the AAZ oil pump still fitted should I have installed the JX one ? would this be causing the problem ?
