So I currently get as much time as I can spare on my Doka. This equates to about 1 day a month...
Today however I removed my plastic heater pipes and started on stainless replacements, cleaned my engine bay, tried to remove the rear castle nuts ( snapped my breaker bar, soaking in Pepsi right now) and removed my fuel tank. All of these jobs were filthy and a bitch in this heat but I love it. I stink of diesel, my fingernails are so black my wife won't come near me and I've really worn in my overalls.
I'm due to fit an EJ25 that I've removed and have these parts for but I have a few questions...
Has anyone done 1.6td to EJ25?
Any jobs I should do now the tank is out ( i gave new straps and sender, and of course it's going to be petrol so will be flushed out. )
Does anyone know the length of positive cable I need to go from the battery ( relocated to behind rhd drivers side rear light) to the starter ( rjes needs to know this for loom build)

petrol van fuel injection tank is different to diesel tank internal plumbing difference, I don't know how much difference that makes in reality with a syncro, but I'm fitting a petrol fi tank into the pickup to replace the original carb one to ensure I get the right flow to the pump as otherwise the fuel pump can starve and as it's self lubricating fail

It's a twin cam from an auto.
I've got all the parts from RJES, including a flywheel and a pulley guide.
The engine is getting new head gaskets, water pump and a good clean up before going in. Anything else I should do to it?

You might struggle using a breaker bar to get the castle nut off. I use this 3/4" bad boy and a scaffold pole.

If you take your van down to the local garage just get them to take the nut off with their windy gun and put it straight back, this will have cracked it off and you can then remove it with ease back home.

Personally I wouldn't use a ratchet on a hub nut but that's me.
Sometimes a air gun won't pull a rear hub nut, they are done up to 500 nm, thats roughly a fat bloke bouncing up and down on a 4ft long bar.

Yes that was me bouncing on a 4 ft scaffold bar....

I shall buy a new and improved one. Unfortunately there's no way my Doka can drive to the garage....
So after a phone call to RJES he said that his previous customers had no issue with using diesel tanks with a Subaru conversion. I'm yet to hear from someone who's done this in a syncro Doka.
Admittedly my breaker bar was about 30 years old.
I shall buy a new and improved one. Unfortunately there's no way my Doka can drive to the garage....
