As I suspected. 50% battery power is nowhere near 6v. It is nearer 12.01. So be very careful that the voltage does not go too low too often.

I've fitted a Tesco rubber mat (£3.00) over the battery and under the seat. It's safe as houses now.

Incidentally 50% power is when the battery is below 12.1 volts not 6v. 10.5v is less than 10% power so continually using the TV would kill it as would a cool-box/fridge or even lighting.
