anyone know why my fridge will work on 240v but not on gas even though the pilot light is burning nice and blue ?

It is not a pilot light - it is the sole burner!
Is your baffle in place in the boiler tube?

baffle plate,is that the vertical tube that is above the sole burner ?
there is heat coming up and out of the vent on the side of the van .

ok got and understood that.how do i know if the baffle is in the tube ,can i see the wire holding it ? and thanks for the drawing

The top end of the wire that it hangs from should be hooked over the edge of the burner tube. (People turn their fridges upside down and dislodge them then wonder why their fridge doesn't get cold on gas!)
You may be able to get something into the bottom of the burner tube and feel for its presence.

ok thanks for the advice ,it`s helped a lot .i will have to remove the fridge tomorrow and check the flu baffle as i can`t get near it through the vent .
