gear linkage.

Post by axeman »

when we first got the our camper i replace the front nylon nibs on the front of the selector rod as they were completely worn away, at the same time the 2 round insets in the gear leaver were replaced as was the round golf ball like bush on the front selector rod. so all that was left to do was to replace the 2nd bush located where the linkage is bolted to the the gear box. which i did this past weekend as sally was complaining about the gear shifting when she was driving the van.

i dropped sally a work this morning and poped in to see my mum and dad, the camper was blocking the drive and my brother needed to get his car out of the drive, he grabed the keys to move the van. he came back in gave me the keys and said that it was tough to get it in to reverse. i went back to the van the gear shift was foooked

the ball and socket that the gear stick locates to (cab end) had poped out, the socket is made in 2 parts. if you look at the photo where my finger is you can see the split in the material. i replace this with a spare that i have but the spare is not i grate condition, so my question is, are the ball and socket available new as every other bush in the linkage is available?
