First breakdown :(
Stuck at the Motorway services at Telford, waiting for the AA to come the rescue. It's been a hilly drive and in this weather i don't think my air cooled engine could Handel it. A few back firing noises, loss of power and sounded like the exuast was blowing, much louder. Some smoke, from engine but no fames THANK GOD. No idea whats gone, managed to limp to the services and van wont start.
Re: First breakdown :(
Brakes are playing up now too, one minute there fine, then nothing, then fine again. Could my engine have melted through the brake lines???
I feel an expensive bill coming on, van sounds f****d

Re: First breakdown :(
After a good investigation, ive found the problem. Catastrophic spark plug failure, its in pieces and now stuck in a little hole. Still waiting for Aa

Re: First breakdown :(
Spark plug blown out, with the thread from the head still attached. Been advised the head requires new thread cored into it. Are there any good garages in or around wolverhampton where i can get this sorted.

Found a good garage in penkridge volkstop, they said it will be £150-£500 depending if its an easy fix or if they have to drop the engine. Hopefully will get it back soon so i can enjoy the sunshine

Re: First breakdown :(
That's a pretty impressive 1st breakdown. My first was a fanbelt going and taking an engine cooling pipe flange with it, whilst on the M25.

Re: First breakdown :(
It's good to get it out of the way, then when it doesn't break down it feels amazing.
You sure did it properly, my first was a simple wire breaking and the second wasn't a proper breakdown but it was alternator belt going and draining the battery.

Re: First breakdown :(
Im thinking this is just the start. The list of jobs seems to be getting bigger and so does the budget for getting the van to the standard id like.
Re: First breakdown :(
Van went to Volkstop today, hope it doesn't break the bank. Fingers crossed.
Re: First breakdown :(
Got the bill today, they managed to fix it for £120 very pleased. Quick and cheap, ill be using them again.
Re: First breakdown :(
Update, engine £120 + vat, brakes £540 + vat. New callipers, new pads, one new disk. Drums cleaned up and serviced and brakes bled. Ouch

Re: First breakdown :(
I did ask them to do a full service on the brakes, they had been overheating a little. I got two toddlers so safety is a top priority. All work i asked to be done to be fair.
