Hi my T25 has 1.6TD engine which has done 8000 miles and Ive got grand to spend as she bit sluggish plus would like to increase top speed. Can I do anything to current engine or do I replace??

8 thousand? eighty thousand? or one hundred and eight thousand?
Good engine service.....new air/diesel fuel/oil & oil filters
Cam belt changed recently?
And extremely important: have the tappets been checked and shims exchanged etc to get the correct clearances (often missed and does affect performance)
Can you hear the turbo working?
If all is OK then a 1.9TD conversion will help but it's not something I would be doing until the 1.6 TD JX was worn out.

it really depends what you want out of your van ie fuel economy , performance etc , i used to own a 1.6 td and i could not live with the lack of performance as they are painfully slow , fitted a 1.9 and was hardly any better, if i was to stay with diesel it would have to be a tdi but you need to budget for uprated gearbox as well , if converting to petrol they are many options depending on your budget and how good you are with mechanics
