Aircon. Factory or Aftermarket?

Post by orcecaveman »

Unfortunately ive not got aircon in my Syncro Velle with factory sunroof. Now, im getting to think that I could really do with it. Has anybody got any ideas or thoughts (sensible ones please) on factory or aftermarket systems or does anybody have one that they would consider parting with?
Did they ever make an aircon system for fittment to a van with a metal sunroof?

Yep, I appreciate that, but im seem to remember seeing pictures of a bus with the outlets on the dash, also how about Westy aircon? I also seem to remember reading about someone using the outlets and controls from a Citroen AX?

Would you have details of the components listed in that picture please?

The evaporator replaced the upper-rear cupboard, and just blew for'ard.

bayvelle is selling the above set up..
westy one would work in yours, how much cold air you get in the front might be disappointing though. The one in the dash that i've seen was fitted to that TRAKKA syncro.
There is a few threads on the samba for aftermarket aircon, might give you some ideas

as lloydy says. the trakka conversion had the aircon inserted into a front dash pod with the air intake from the standard ventilation..

but not a lot of room as the following pic shows...
