Turbo diesel - turbo needs sorting

Post by ermie571 »

Hi - asking for someone else...I don't do diesel

what is a reasonable price to refurb the turbo in a 1.6TD...or where does he get one new? Can you modify to make another one fit??

Thanks

Use midland turbo Em, you send them yours, if they can rebuild it, it's £180+vat. If its had it they charge same price as brickwerks for a new one.
I've used them twice, 1st time it needed a new one, second time they reused mine.
Recommend them highly, normally they get it turned around in a day
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

Yep same same. Spot on .midland , they don't mind a bit of a haggle either , turbo would have to be well gone ( housing scored/damaged beyond limits for them not to be able to rebuild. Also if they have what you need ( a known good housing) they will build you up one before you return yours and when the new one is all fitted and you are happy then you send them back the old one for refurb. - come to think of it i still owe them the obliterated one that's sitting in my garage :)
