Hi, Ive just replaced my high roof with a side hinged Devon pop top that I got off ebay. My question is are type 2 roofs the same size as T25 in width.
Although the roof looked fine when placed on top, after fitting the hinges the roof has moved over to one side. I have a 20mm gap, sliding door side, and the pop top only just fits into the gutter.
Should there be a spacer behind the hinges to centre the roof. Is any body interested in a second hand Autohomes high roof.
Is my replacement pop top the right one

not sure about spacers on the hinges but a T2 roof is narrower and has more of a radius to it in the centre than a T25, so it is probably a case of adjusting the fit of the roof you have just bought rather than it being the wrong type, also be aware that fibreglass does 'creep out of shape if it has been off a vehicle for too long. Try removing the hinge fixings and leaving it in situ on you van roof for a while, put wooden blocks in the gutters to keep the sides in shape and secure with straps for a couple of weeks in this heat and it may reshape itself.
E D I T post, the gas struts can also push it out of shape if they are not positioned correctly.

Cheers, at least I know its the proper roof. The guy I bought it from had it stored on his garage roof for years, so it could have spread out of shape. I shall leave it for now. Ive got it tied down inside because I dont yet have the correct roof clamps. I just want to get used to the motor for now.

The hinges for the roof go right down into the gutter if that helps.

I tell a lie. I just had a look and the top of the round bit lines up with the top of the gutter.
