Alternator connections pics

Post by Bluebell65 »

Can anyone please help identify wiring connections on this alternator. At the moment i have a slim blue wire going to top of tripple port then there are two other heavier wires ( covered in red tape ) underneath that. There is a single connector as can be seen in pic but no wire is attached to this. My alternator is not working and i intend to replace it however need to know if the wiring is correct for the new one. Also got pic of voltage regulator as was considering changing that first but dont know if the one in the pic still looks ok. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks :ok

In the Bentley manual.
Blue = exciter to dash warning light.
Both thick red to battery.
Suppressor to other.
