Belfast mechanic needed
Hi, I hope someone can help. We are visiting family in Belfast with our T25 (holdsworth conversion). It was driving well but started to overheat yesterday, the cooling system has a leak. Can anyone recommend a mechanic in or near Belfast with t25 experience? Yours hopefully. J

You don't say what engine you have ?
First things first ... welcome to the forum
Now then, where's the leak ? Find it, stop it, and bleed the system of any air by following the instructions on the Wiki

So, report back what you find and how you get on

Thanks,
1986-87, had another look looks like header tank is leaking at the coolant level sensor, and now also at the water pump via what looks like a drain hole actually on the pump. A lot of brown rusty looking greasy sludge in the water.
I guess the water pump and sensor need replaced, system flushed out and hope it was just a blockage.
Was hoping to get someone in Belfast to do it between now and the 16th but the whole place is shutting down,
if not any reccomendations in Edinburgh?
Looking more like it Will have to go back on the recovery truck on the ferry.

New tank and pump (Brickwerks will post out to you), IF it's the late cooling system ... and you are in the cross-over period (early = metal thermostat housing ... late = plastic t/stat housing) then it's a relatively simple job which you could undertake yourself with a few basic tools. Early waterpump/t/stat housing = potential nightmare.

Late header tank ... http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... 86-on.html
Remember it may be a cracked sensor or a failed sensor seal. http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... ensor.html
Late water pump ... http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... -2-1l.html
Early water pump *shudders* ... http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... early.html
The waterpump and header tank are also available from GSF ... if there is one over there ? A minimum of tools are required, which you will surely carry anyway ... 13mm spanner, 13mm socket & ratchet for the pump and flange bolts and to slacken the alternator, 10mm spanner or socket for the 3 pump pulley bolts , 6mm Allen key for the pipe to the waterpump from the T/stat housing (late)
