What centre caps to fit my wheels?

Post by 300CE »

Hi all, i am missing centre caps for my wheels and wondered if any of you chaps/chapettes had any ideas as to what i could use to cover up the centre hole. I've attached a picture of my wheel so you can see what i mean (please excuse the dodgy graphics)!:

I was thinking of a something like these but am not sure if they would fit/how i would make them fit (the seller has got back to me to say they measure 160mm across):

Any ideas/advice much appreciated!

Not sure you could get them to fit , the ebay caps where held on by a screw and the ones for your alloys would have been a push fit.

You could hold/bodge them in place with a few blobs of silicone/tiger seal, but you run the risk of them working loose and disapearing on a trip out

Cheers for the response James, yeah, I'm wondering whether the previous ones were 'flat' & didn't fit because of the centre nut & am thinking that I need to get one with a raised centre (like those Borbet ones) but as you said, that are a push fit.

Have emailed a few companies that sell alloy wheels etc to see if they have anything that may fit!

I think some sort of silicon sealant would do the trick, looks like you have a nice 5 mm lip all around the edge, I rekon it would easily hold, then use the hole in the covers to insert a hook to pull them back of when you need too... worth a try .

Cheers pionte, I spoke with my mate yesterday & he reckons there's deffo a way of making something to get them fit so I've made a cheeky offer! If I get them, I'll provide an update.

Well, i went for it and got those caps for £20! I've attached a quick pic so you can see what they look like - i'm going to have a go at refurbing all the wheels (the centre cap will be sprayed black) and i'm going to leave it to my mate to fabricate something to make them fit properly so they don't fall off - i'll then get some kind of badge to fit in the centre. I think it'll look pretty good once it's all done:

If anyone out there is a whizz with photoshop, i'd appreciate if they could colour it black and re-post just so i can get a better look!!

Cheers, Justin.

Cheers pionte, yeah, I think they look pretty good! I'm letting my mate sort out the holding on issue - if it were left up to me they'd end up down the road after 5 minutes!
