Golf 1z into my van

Post by daddiehomiedog »

Hi all,

Just been donated a 1994 golf with a 1.9 tdi 1z engine, i have stripped out wiring and pedals will be out soon, what i need to know is......did this year have an immobiliser fitted? and if so do i need the key and transponder, and clocks?

I could do with a wiring diag for a 1994 mark 3 golf, pics will make it easier i hope!!

I have found some good info on TDI club forum but am confused by the pics and instructions as it would seem what i have infornt of me isnt what they had when doing a wiki, any help appreciated. :?

Here's a quote from the Diesel engine options that is at the top of the alternative engines thread...https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=194
There are a bewildering array of VW 1.9TDI engines, from 90bhp upwards to 150bhp. Early units are basic electronic TDI, later make even greater use of electronics for smoother running and economy. If you are going electronic be aware that if the donor is 96 onwards you will need to have the ECU from that engine and ignition key, barrel and clocks, or have got the integrated security 'burnt out' of the ECU. Later ones (PD or Pumpe Duse) are said to have changed engine mounting bolt holes that may need new mounts to be fabricated and all TDIs will need a beefier clutch than the standard T25 diesel one.

A really comprehensive guide can be found on the Brickyard here...

Good luck

Got the diagram, if you pm me your email address I can send it. If you found no immo/coil when you took out the wiring then there isn't one. Can't really miss it.
