Is it a DOKA - Help please

Post by Ian T »

Hi to everyone

The dreaming is finally over (means she has finally said I can have one), after many months, probably years of pestering since a bay about 20 years ago. Thought about, and researched a T4 but kept drawing back to a T25. Made the big mistake of going to a show at Stanford last Sunday now the pain is just too much. Trouble is I have fallen for a crew cab, so please don’t shout!

So my question is please a simple but confusing one for the uninitiated as I am going of photographs to make a short list. I have found two I like:

The first has double doors but no windows in the rear door – all the DOKA’s I have seen pictures of appear to have windows in the rear doors – Is this an after fit, can it be after fitted (if that is a word) or is this a totally different vehicle. Also it appears that there is only a rear door on the left side as I cant see a door handle or hinges on the right.

The second one does not appear to have rear doors so is this DOKA please

Vehicle 1 - has 110k on petrol 1.9 so I assume getting near the end and think I will gas it.

Vehicle 2 - has 67k on a diesel 1.7 so I guess a little better

So am I mixing all these up and does a DOKA always have 2 doors and rear door windows – Some of you expert guidance is very much appreciated as I know I am starting on a long journey here on this forum – Show was fantastic by the way if any organisers reading

First of many posts as I want to go get this this weekend or is the advice these are not DOKA’s or what is best variant and walk away – so confused so anything would be wonderful – thank you

Ian

Doka is just short for the German for double cabin. So all crewcabs are dokas, the window/no window/two rear door thing, are just level of trim. Most come with one rear door,
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

As far as I'm aware, rear windows can be retro-fitted, yes.
