Rear number plate light

Post by MeMe30 »

One of my rear number plate lights has fallen off due to the plastic breaking with the other soon to follow. I have seen on VW Heritage website an aftermarket number late light. Silver tube type with two locating lugs. I am wondering if anyone has fitted one of these or if there are any other solutions? The reason I'm looking at an alternative is the cost of a replacement light being around £40, and with 2 to replace the £30 aftermarket light is much cheaper. Thanks

Out of stock.......at the moment.....however I get the feeling they may no longer be available

http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... light.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A quick email to them will let you know when they are due in

-------------------
Not sure what you are looking at on the Heritage website as they have nothing under Numberplates

http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_parts_Numb ... try_GB.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If the plastic holder has broke then you need a 2nd hand replacement to fit your bulb holder and lens to or even a 2nd hand complete unit

Thanks for you're replies. The light is advertised in a new VW Heritage T25 parts magazine, have not looked on their website yet. Had a look at the Brickwerks web site, again thanks didn't know about that one, sent them an e-mail asking when they may restock. I'm New to owning a VW so not upto speed on places to look for parts etc..

Number plate lights are obsolete now so Brickwerks won't be getting any stock

Though they do have the early style bulb holders and clear lenses

This is the best we can do at the moment, sorry.

http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/l ... 3-all.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and

To be fair, it's usually the metal bit that's corroded away.
The rubber you can usually re-use as you can with the plastic surround.

I know this is an old-ish thread but I came across this whilst doing a bit of searching, on a German website. Maybe Brickwerks could partner up for everyone's convenience.
