Since buying 1989 1.9DG 15 months ago there is a loud "click" to be heard where gear lever goes into rubber boot on cab floor.
Could anyone with a 5-speed box tell me if this is usual. If not what should I be looking at to cure.
I reckon g.box has done 130000miles and runs smoothly although it takes a fair bit of force on gear lever to get reverse.

Plastic onion beginning to part company? It'll catch if it starts breaking up. Eventually lever drops too.
