do you mean the green wire? this is coil negative and also feeds the tacho. Without this the Buzzer circuit does not know the engine speed.

No, the one from the two-pin connector for'ard. Can't tell you what colour, but the tacho works just fine.

The high-rev sensor itself feeds into the light correctly. If it's not connected, then below 2k, the light is off; above 2k the light is on.

When we bought the van, the OP light was off at all times - even before starting. Turned out both senders were bypassed. With the low-rev light reconnected, all behaves correctly below 2k. But, with the high-rev sender reconnected, the light would randomly flash over 2k. Never any buzzer, though. Earth the high-rev sender wire, and it stays off, so the source must be the sender. Since the engine's since done 40k with no issues, and the light was _totally_ random (including with engine stone cold), then it's very unlikely to be a real pressure problem. I've replaced both senders, but not yet re-done the high-rev wiring. I know, I know... <grin> It's on the list.

OK now I see ^^^^ most people call them high pressure and low pressure sensors, the low pressure is the standard, the high pressure does the buzzer.
