Van runs and starts fine when started from cold, but if I start it after a short stop, say 5 to 10 minutes it's difficult to start and runs poorly very hesitant and almost dies on pulling out, which is obviously a concern.
Any ideas what could be causing it, oil level fine although it does use a bit, coolant fine, fresh full tank of petrol, 1.9 DG with pierberg 2e3 carb.

Re: Hesitation and difficult start when warm
The information you supplied suggests a weak mixture when the engine is warm
Does it pop and fart on the overrun?
if it does then a check should me made for air leaks.
other than that change the filter, and clean out the carb.

Not entirely sure what you mean, but don't think so, once it gets past the has situation and kicks on smells a bit petrolly like it didn't all burn properly, going for not shortly so I'll get garage to take a look.
