coil

Post by stevo1980 »

Having intermittent break downs with my 2 litre Aircooled bus, thought it was the coil so changed, now it still breakes down with a backfire and wont start for a while only does it when engine been running for a while. Now been told by MAC VW the flamethrower coil I got from GSF is too powerfull. I am running on electronic stock ignition. I tried another Bosche coil from GSF and the van would not start. Any ideas about the flame thrower. Steve at Gasure recommended it. I know it could be Hall sensor or the ignition modual too.???????????????

Are you sure this is not fuel related.

I don't know not checked the tank yet, but surely it wouldn't back fire if fuel wasn't being let in.

Backfire has a number of reasons
Mainly due to fuel
Weak mixture is the biggest
