Engines for t25 petrol 1983 dg in a dh?

I've managed to cook my campers engine by accidentally knocking off the fan wire when trying to fit a new screen washer for an mot!

Mot guy left the can running post mot and by the time I got to it it was ruined!

Anyhow - Despite taking the engine out and having the head skimmed its still running on 2 cylinders ( rocker box contains water so looks bad).

So I'm going to admit defeat and get another engine. My engine was a dh serial engine - does anyone know if a different serial engine will fit - there's a dg available locally on eBay - so considering that, looks like its just a different carb, will it still fit the gearbox?
