I've got a nice new 8m hose and the appropriate connector for the Westy tank, Now i'm looking for a 2 burner camping stove so we can have the flexibility of cooking a fry-up in the awning.
My nice old Tilley Talisman wont work as it's an old style straight off the bottle type that uses high pressure.
Now from what I have read the westy regulator is a slightly higher pressure than a normal butane type.
If I was to buy a new stove like a caminggaz (ideally I'd like another old regulator type tilley) Would it work with the higher pressure and if so what difference would it make to the flame?

Re: Camping stove on external tank
Most of the Westy owners on here are doing just as you say....I'm running a Cadac Easy Chef Deluxe straight off the LPG tank via the tanks own 50Mbar regulator. I asked exactly the same question 4 years ago with very little feedback. All I can say is: I know of three Westy owners doing the same and none have any problems. I even ran my Cadac side by side (not at the same you understand) using a separate bottle and regulator and then the Westy tank and noticed not discernible difference in the flame intensity or colour.
Yes..in theory the slightly higher gas pressure should give a larger perhaps less defined gas jet but it doesn't on mine.
The only reason I can put this down to is the long (5 metre) hose that I use might be affecting the pressure a little.

Thanks for your advice Martin, Will be putting a bid on a nice low pressure Tilley on Ebay that would go well with the van.
Shame I can't use my old one though as I like the beat up look of it
