Drivetec brake pads

Any one ever heard of Drivetec ? Ive never come accross them before, my mate has just had a garage fit some pads to his Z4.... im not overly imporessed , they seem like a cheap option .

Any reviews would be appreciated before I tell him to take it back to the garage and put some o/e ones in .

they also told him that his vredestein tyres where ' budget ' options ... ive always rated them and have them on my van.

I believe Drivetec is GMF motor factors own budget brand of parts

Thanks David, I certainly havnt heard of them before... I do question the reasoning of the dealer fitting ' budget ' brake pads to a 150 mph sports car. My mate (who isnt technically minded) never scrimps on the car, it always gets what it need when it needs it so when I pointed this out to him he was a little miffed. And their comments on the tyres being ' budget' are laughable..... they nearly always come out above Pirelli and Goodyear, needles to say he will giving them no more money.

Replacement brake friction linings regardless of who makes them should be tested and marked ECE90
In theory they should perform as well as OE... within 15%

yes true, but its the -15% that would concern me! its just annoying that dealer didnt specify what brand would be used..... brakes and tyres i never go budget, but it wasnt my car and my mate didnt ask the right questions before hand, lesson learned i think.

I used to work for a company called CES. They are a motor factors and drivetec ar one of the bigger ranges they sell. They never had any problems as im aware of, and i use them myself on my own vehicles. Not had any issuses with pedal feel, performance or brake fade.
