This little fella is a wonderful tool for cleaning PCB tracks...will take of any surface coatings and bring the copper up nice and bright for soldering.

I cleaned up the 14 pin contacts using a clean pencil rubber (eraser) to 'brighten' (remove the tarnishing) on the PCB contacts. Use in one direction pulling rather than pushing the PCB. The contacts should go from a dirty brown to brightish yellow.

The credit for the above goes to Martin (California Dreamin') for that tip!

Fortunately, i haven't had a problem with the actual pcb tearing and i'm sure someone will be along to advise.

I repaired a rip on mine (it was one of the tracks going to the backlight). Just scrape away the plastic coating on either side of the track to reveal a bit of copper (enough to solder onto), then solder a little linking wire across - looks a bit crappy but does the job :ok
