Getting it & me in the same place might be interesting, though.

For the valve, maybe these peope. I got a thermocouple from them

Sorry if some of this has already been said,
Firstly , not safe to use on gas until Flame failure / thermocouple fixed.(should cut off within 1 to 2 minutes of the flame going out)
Whilst gas valve may not be available the magnetic insert which shuts the gas of is fairly universal, with one of 2 sizes used on older stuff like this. they have a small rubber washer on them that seals off the gas.
As for the small flame, the filter could well be the problem,
Instructions at http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... ctions.pdf
Say a filter is fitted . Also note you have to turn gas off at isolating tap or tank (no "off" control for gas on fridge itself !)
Check fridge data plate , check if 50mbar and make sure matching regulator is fitted to gas tank or bottle.(small flame may indicate 28 mbar regulator running 50 mbar fridge, whats the hob like?)
The flame size is controlled by the thermostat so it may not alter noticably until the fridge is quite cold.
There should be a baffle in the chimney (twisted bit of tin on the end of a bit of wire)
Spares are available from a wholesaler called Johnnie Longden - you would have to go through your local caravan dealer. Parts for older fridges are limited though , jets , burner tube, magnetic valve inserts, thermocouples and thats about it.
Could post pictures from catalogue if your interested.

Sorry to bring an old thread back from the dead but with a few other threads here about poor gas performance I'm hoping Adrian can tell us what the original problem was two years ago and how it was fixed.

My RM184 fridge used to be as good if not better on gas than mains but recently it the gas flame seems to be stuck on a low flame and I am suspecting the gas valve /thermostat and a search brought up this thread. I've swapped the jet for a new one to rule out that and can't see a filter in the fridge pipework but I might not have looked in the right place. Everything else is as the fridge was when last running properly and the flue is and burner are all clear. On 240V the fridge and stat are working fine but on gas it lights and the fridge gets cool but not enough to ice the elements like it used to and looking at the flame through the inspection window just shows a very small blue flame like a pilot light and I'm sure the flame was a lot bigger before.

Am off to France in the next few days for a fortnight so hoping there may be a quick fix to save us from needing hookup everywhere.

Wish I knew! It still does the exact same. We've just never got round to investigating in more detail. Sorry!

The filter is usually between the burner adjustment knob pipework and the jet, easiest way to remove it is with a blast of compressed air or poke it out with a length of wire. It could be anywhere along that length, if there is one.
I suspect that the valves are getting gunked up, after all these fridges have had many years use. There was a problem with some hoses leaching an oily residue into the pipework, it may be the same thing..

Cheers oldie. Will try looking for the filter there. Had been expecting it to be at the inlet pipe instead. Have heard about the gunking up of regulators on newish caravans from dodgy rubber hoses but on this one I think all the gas pipework is metal. But then again I think I've heard of oily residues from LPG and that is what this one runs on so could be gunked up valves from that.
