I think mines the same as Lloyds and drive very similar to the original, I have been on some long journeys without any sighs of ankle ache, but do like the look of the new Passat one in the link above.

Re: found a good TDI pedal!
i have a standard golf pot with the short cable on it and i am about to mount it right above the existing van pedal with a short bar link. it will definately work but i have a feeling it might be a bit stiffer than normal.
i shall let you know tomorrow.
it isnt a very elegant solution though so i am looking for the 'phase 2 ' improvement.
the passat floor pedal i just linked to , if it could be made to fit nicely, would also solve the problems of the untidy holes in the carpet/mat left by the removal of the original pedal.

Re: found a good TDI pedal!
Those 1K pedals look good don't they, I investigated them a while ago.
Sadly the connector and pinout is different, and they're shown in the diagrams differently, none of which is encouraging it'll work with the earlier ECU. I'd love know if anyone has cracked it.
Some folk use the electric pedal from a 99> Sharan (I think), as the shape of the metal lever suits the T3 apparently. Got one here to have a play with sometime.

Re: found a good TDI pedal!
This is a poor picture, but I am using a pedal from a 2000 Jetta. It has a plastic pedal. It was very uncomfortable and I ended up with a block of wood under my foot. I ended up using the vanagon pedal. I cut the back of it flush and filled with JB Weld epoxy. Once it was dry, I added a piece of Teflon based tape used in cabinets etc. I cut off the Jetta pedal and filled the side voids with JB Weld as well and added a piece of friction tape as well. The pedal rests in the stock location and works very well.

In this picture the pedal is pulled back so you can see how it was cut down.

Re: found a good TDI pedal!
I should probably report back on the pedal i started this thread with... I am really happy with it, feels in the right place, has a good arc of movement, isn't like a hair trigger. My last euro trip was done without cruise control, and i suffered no foot ache at all. I'm really happy with it.

To be honest, no idea. Their pedal is a lot of money though, can find the same (looks the same to me) pedal on ebay.de

Re: found a good TDI pedal!
interesting pedal fixes
Am I the only one that left the cable in and attatched it in the engine bay to the potentiometer?
Made a bracket to hold the cable from the old A4 throttle pedal and attatched to the pot
works really well, and so much less wiring etc
just a thought

Nope, i think a lot of people go that route.
i was planning to but my throttle cable was knackered so it was actually easier and cheaper in my case to rig the pot in the front.
plus i wanted my engine bay to look as original as possible.
