No didn't make it. It was already in the van when I bought it. I think (?) it is an old country campers conversion. It does work well and is very solid and sturdy and I should imagine quite easy to copy.

Pwag20, are the seat base boards secured in any way, they look like they just lift off? They look quite heavy and could cause serious injury in an accident if not fastened down.
Sorry to be a pessimist but loose items in the back of vehicles has always been a concern of mine and our campers do tend to have more things in the back than cars.
Back on topic, my camper has a raised bed area over the engine bay and I find it's the ideal place to store the camping chairs, parasol, windbreaks, leveling ramps and assorted tools.

This is something I have often wondered as the boards do just lift off (they aren't actually all that heavy). I took the pictures to send to a seat belt fitting company to check that the configuration would be acceptable for the fitting of two 3 point seat belts which have since been done. Apart from crash tested beds the safety seems to be a bit of a grey area. I have recently had and passed an MOT as is though ....

If someone is sat on them with a seat belt on they would be safe, when empty I would fasten a seat belt (if they actually go through the seat base) just to be safe.

Good thinking! The belts do go through the seat base. I will do that
