T25 Brake Servo

Post by Lilly White »

Hey campers , I own an 89 T25 and the brake servo is leaking . a friend has given me a second hand one from a T4 but im not sure if its compatible . Is a second hand one hard to come or could a servo from a MK11 golf be used ? Please if anyone has any tips or advice they would be greatly appreciated .

Hi mate,
when you say 'leaking' what exactly do you mean? is your pedal 'hard' all the time?
Can the servo sustain vacuum and have you checked the one way valve?

As above there are a few places it could leak from. I ended up replacing mine as it was definately leaking. Ended us checking all of the hoses etc etc.

I got mine from VW Heritage in their sale @ £180 instead of £300.

Its a royal pain the butt to replace, and while you are at it its worth replacing other parts and reconditioning the pedal assembly. I noticed my master cylinder was seeping so replaced that while I was there along with the clutch slave cylinder. Also replaced the shear bolts with S/S allen key bolts.

Good luck.
