Gear selection issues

I've just changed my gearbox for another 5 speed dogleg box and I can't 1st 3rd and 5th can anyone help?

loosen the pinchbolt on the splines and shorten the rod by about an 1/8" and try again, when youve gone too far you will have problems with 2nd and 4th
( and reverse, but leave that for now cos if 2 &4 are good so will rev)

make sure the plate holding the rear onion is fitted on the front side of the boss on the gearbox
