It may have disintegrated with rust, given the age of the bits worth a look. Also it could have become dislodged/dropped down somehow.
Given the number of mouse reports recently it may well be worth checking that the burner tube is absolutely clear with a blast of compressed air.

agreed, no point inverting it if it works on electric. s'cuse the pun but this has me baffled. It has to be flame alignment surely?

It is baffling! It would be hard to get the flame so far out of alignment with no alteration since last year. I tested mine just the other day and could feel the cold in the plates within half an hour.
Turning it upside down could have dislodged the baffle but the lack of cooling was already there prior to that.

Yes Bren I know that mate, but the lower pressure regulator is also used elsewhere in Europe as well the UK, including France.
Just a thought.

Thinking laterally, is the gas tank virtually empty so the regulator is struggling?

YUp, we'll have to wait. A low level of gas wouldn't affect the performance I don't think, my fridge flame will still work well after my cooker's given up the ghost. Besides, he's had it running for hours and the gas would have surely ran out after a while if it was that low.

Another thought. If it is out of the van and not connected to the van electrics would that affect it?

if he's got it on a work bench away from the van then the chances are he's using different regulator.

could this be the prob?

When i tested mine this week I ran tube from external tank & made up longer wire to connect to van wiring.
Twist my nipple nuts and send me to Alaska.

I believe it's on the bench because it wasn't working in the van
