Brake upgrade kit,using passat parts
I'm ordering a front vented brake kit from "Vdub engineering" in canada( i've used this guy before for a porsche brake kit for my spilt bus). The kit makes it possible to use front brake parts from the b5 passat. 288mm X 25 discs. ATE calipers etc. cheap and easy to get hold of here. All that needs doing is to machine the original disc/hub to 130.5 mm to act as a hub for the passat disc and thats it. The kit is 180 canadian dollars or 320 with a set of premachined hubs. just wondering if anyone else is interested in a kit so we/I can save on shipping ?

Re: Brake upgrade kit, using passat parts
how much does it add to the overall front wheel track due to using the original front hubs

Surely there must be options available in UK or EU to save the shipping/duty cost? I took the DIY approach.

Not sure how much track it adds. I guess the thickness of the disc mounting face each side, which is fine for me as i'll just remove a spacer i already have. I havent been able to find anything in the uk /europe that can compare on price! Would go the DIY route as the kit looks simple enough to make myself,I'm just a bit too busy to do it right now. Steve
