Can i mix synthetic and mineral oil

Post by Sir Brixalot »

Hi All. The previous owner used 15/40 synthetic. It could do with a top up - can i just use 15/40 mineral to top up? cheers

There isn't such thing as a fully synthetic 15W40 engine oil, the only choices are semi synthetic and mineral.
It will be absolutely fine topping up with mineral.
Just remember the oil isn't long life so will need changing regularly at 5,000 mile intervals or less.
