Trumatic e1800 help in S Yorks

Post by NigelM »

As above my van came with a Trumatic e1800 heater fitted but this has never worked, can anyone recommend somewhere/someone to remedy this.

Cheers

I've got one of these in my van which also didn't work when I bought the van. When I switched it in the fan would start then i would hear the igniter clicking and then it would just stop again. It turns out after much investigation that the solinoids stick if not used for a while. I took my out and apart, lightly tapped the solinoid to loosen it, put it back together and hey presto, it worked!! When it's switched on you should hear the clunk of the solinoid opening.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
James

Thanks for the reply Jim,
I have done that and am now getting the clunk after knocking the solenoid, but no luck when re installed and fitted up to the gas, it clunks before the igniter starts to click then again as it fails and red light reappears, see, well more listen to link..
