Westy Buddy Seat...?

Post by Evil Elvis »

Hi Guys,

I've fitted a full Westy interior into my van from a 1987 Hi-top and I have a large square(ish) box unit with a cushion on it left to go in...
I'm guessing that this is some kind of buddy seat but I cant seem to source any kind of info or pic's to show me where she lives or
how she's fitted. If anyone has one fitted, or has any pics or info/links that they could post I'd be most grateful to see them...

All the best, Mark.

Ours isn't fixed down, it just sits loose. The weight of of it with our porta-potti in means it doesn't ever shift around at all when we're driving, but there are also a couple of strap eyes on the seat base in front that are obviously intended toallow you to 'lash' it in place if required. Generally we keep it pushed tight against the back of the seat in front so it doesn't get in the way, but being able to pull back a bit helps with the lid staying open.

There are 2 cleats(same as on the front luggage rack)screwed to the battery box and 2 on the side of the box, some kind of strap holds them together

Thanks for all your replies, just need to retro-fit a couple of cleats to the bulkhead... Should have said that I have an ex military 1.6D that I've converted into a camper with a 1987 Westy interior. My batt is in the back with the lump so no batt box internally hence no cleats fitted to strap it down to...

All in all it'll be an easy mod to sort out so many thanks to you all... :D :D :D All the best, Mark.
