With the mention of trailers: the SA has a kerb weight of 1660 kg, GVW of 2500kg, Total combined towing weight of 4100kg. How does this compare to German buses?

That's odd :? Just checked the syncro and it's 2500/4500 with max axle weights of 1300F/1380R

Why should the SA be de-rated for towing, when that's what it's best at with the big engine and decent brakes?

I'm going home to check the handbook!

yep in France you must have the "carte grise" (is it V5 you call it?) of the vehicle with you at all time plus driving license and i think even your insurance papers. He probably used your 25 euro later that day at the bar ... disgusting ...
