Seatbelt anchor points
I have an 86 ex Dutch military van and I'm wanting to fit a rock and roll bed in the back. The rock & roll bed in question is of wooden construction; where should I anchor the seatbelts? is there specific mounting points?

Re: Seatbelt anchor points
if it left the factory as a van ie type 251 then the seat belt reinforcements aren't fitted, you will have to add anchor/spreader plates yourself, if it was a kombi 253 then the anchors are fitted
brickie sells anchor plates as do JK and others

Re: Seatbelt anchor points
cool; cheers. It's an 86 ex dutch military personel carrier. Has a row of seats in the back but the lap belts are fixed to a bulkhead that sits behind them (the van is layed out like a crewcab but is not a pick up). So these anchor points; whats the deal with location?

Re: Seatbelt anchor points
sounds like you will have all the required strengthening in, the rear inertia reel top mounts on the rear internal pillar will have a little plastic plug in them with a cross head and the lower ones are behind the rear cards, the lap belt mounts are used as the remaining inertia reel mounts, ie the end of the belt and the short one

Re: Seatbelt anchor points
I'll have a look but I'm not sure if you've totally understood what I mean about the layout. Have a look at my 'build-thread' here:

Re: Seatbelt anchor points
For what its worth, my van is ex German Military Police and was laid out as a micro bus...
All the points for belts were already in situ on the rear bulkhead and the rear pillars...
The Bus had been converted into a radio/comms van at some point by the German Army
but the belt points were just filled with black rubber bungs... I just popped the bungs and
bolted the belts in... Not sure that will help you any but just check for stealthy looking bungs...

Re: Seatbelt anchor points
I'm such a douche.... even if my van has got the anchor points I wouldn't know as it's been clad with some wierd material thats stuck on (honestly needs hammer and chisel to get it off - see my thread and you'll see what I mean) so I'll just have to wait and see whats under there when it comes off. cheers anyway!
